Behind the Scenes: Ekena Millwork Bradford Ceiling Medallion with Custom Finish

Typically, most of our customers order unfinished ceiling medallions because they can paint the medallion themselves. Well, we at Architectural Depot understand the importance of getting projects done in a cost efficient and timely matter. While there are some who will still want to purchase unfinished ceilings, this Factory Friday post is for those who want a quality paint job on a quality ceiling medallion.

Pictured below is the Ekena Millwork Bradford ceiling medallion that had the bronze blue patina (metallic series) finish applied to it.

The benefits of having our warehouse team paint the ceiling medallion definitely outweigh attempting to paint it yourself. The most obvious one is that you receive a finished medallion with an even coat, without smudges or air bubbles. In addition, our team will not ship anything less than high quality products. Overall, it will take less time to purchase a medallion that has already been painted rather than doing it yourself. Simply stated, it is more cost effective to purchase the medallion painted rather than taking the risk of painting it yourself incorrectly and having to purchase another one to repaint.

All of our ceiling medallions come factory primed and ready for your paint finish. You can faux finish, paint, faux stain, marbleize, or crackle your ceiling medallion with paints that can be found at most home improvement stores. For those of us who are not so patient or artistic, we offer our complete line of ceiling medallions in the finishes below. Each of our finishes are hand finished by paint artisans and then factory clear coated for a lifetime of beauty.

Ekena Millwork Granada Ceiling Medallion

Darla and Richard from New Castle, Pennsylvania were in need of a ceiling medallion to pair with their newly purchased French empire crystal chandelier. They purchased an Ekena Millwork Granada ceiling medallion. Once it was delivered, they used a pearl mist rust-oleum spray paint along with a gold acrylic paint to create a delicate coat of color. Paint dried, ceiling medallion installed and chandelier attached, the project looks stunning. Darla and Richard left us with these fine comments:

The medallions, along with the crystal chandeliers when lit really add to the luster and shine of our ceilings and walls. It is so beautiful that sometimes my husband and I sit for hours in our living and dining rooms just to be able to admire the auras of light on our ceiling and walls. Pictures do not even justify the beauty. Thank you!

Our ceiling medallion collections are modeled after original historical patterns and designs. Made out of lightweight yet durable solid urethane, the medallions are perfect for easy installation. With a couple of screws and adhesive glue, the medallion can be installed to its proper place in a jiffy.  They are fully primed and ready for your paint. Ekena Millwork Orleans Ceiling Medallion with Light Fixture

Last month, recent Architectural Depot customers Tim and Katie bought several ceiling medallions for their home. Of the several options online, they purchased an Ekena Millwork Orleans ceiling medallion for one of the new rooms in the home.

Originally, the ceiling medallion that they ordered came in a primed white finish. Looking at the picture of their picture and comparing it to the item online, the difference is obvious. Tim and Katie decided that since the medallion came in a primed finish, it would easy to paint it. After looking at the different paint options, they chose some paint that would match the lighting fixture colors. Once the product was completed, they sent us the project photo and it came out great!
